Chuck Francis died at the age of 84 on Saturday, April 8, 2023. Chuck was a co-founder of Do Diligence® Partners in 1996 and continued to be a leader of the business until 2003 when he founded Granite Bridge Advisors, an IT Consultancy focusing on IT operations due diligence. Chuck and Tom McKittrick, the other co-founder, had worked together since the late 1980s when Tom reported to Chuck at Morino Associates, Inc. It was during this time that Chuck and Tom developed the close bond that was to last until Chuck’s death.
Chuck was a renaissance man with interests in technology, painting, writing, working with Inner City black communities and young jail inmates, on Massachusetts legislation to assist the dying, and in his Unitarian Church. His skills at due diligence were unparalleled given his broad and deep experience and his passion for quality in all things technology-related. A former colleague described him as “incredibly likable, insightful, creative and of great character”, and that, in a few words, sums up Chuck as a human being.
Do Diligence® would never have come about if it were not for Chuck Francis teaming with Tom and guiding the early development of what has become a vibrant Consultancy. He will be sorely missed as a colleague, mentor, and great friend.
